"Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise, risking more than others think is safe, dreaming more than others think is practical & expecting more than others think is possible."

Enthusiasm Is Everything

-Karthik Gurumurthy

When someone asks “How’s life?” most people say stuff like “Not too bad,” “Hanging in there,” or “Nothing much”—and they look completely bored while saying it.

Here’s the problem: if you think and talk like that, you’re not going anywhere. Your life becomes dull and lifeless. So how do you break out of this?

When other people get attention or recognition, we get jealous. And that jealousy turns into apathy and laziness. The words we use to describe our lives literally create our depression. Want to feel better? Stop using those depressing words.

Try some positive self-talk: “You’ve got everything you need! You can do this better than anyone!” Start talking to yourself like this and you’ll feel fresh energy flowing through your mind and body.

When you’re enthusiastic, it literally affects the people around you. This is actually scientifically proven! When we talk about ourselves—”I”—there are three parts: your body, your mind, and the energy/vibrations coming off you.

You know how people say great leaders have a certain “aura” or brightness around them? That’s real. It’s the energy waves coming from their body. Your energy field touches people too.

So make sure you’re putting out good energy and creating good vibes around you.

No matter how positive you are, failure can still knock you down. When that happens, remember this: success feels sweet, but failure can feel sweet too if you look at it the right way.

How? Think of failure as just success that’s been postponed. That’s all it is. Nothing to be depressed about.

Treat every experience as unique and meaningful. Let yourself relax into it. And always stay enthusiastic—because enthusiasm literally means “God within.”
