Integrity is simple: telling the truth, keeping your promises, and taking responsibility for your actions. That’s it.
What It Means to Be Virtuous
George Washington Carver gave us a powerful definition of a virtuous person:
Clean inside and out – Your character matches your appearance.
Treats everyone equally – Doesn’t worship the rich or look down on the poor.
Loses gracefully – Takes defeat without complaining.
Wins humbly – Achieves success without bragging.
Protects the vulnerable – Always considerate of women, children, and the elderly.
Too brave to lie – Has the courage to tell the truth.
Too generous to cheat – Refuses to take unfair advantage.
Shares fairly – Takes their portion of the world and lets others have theirs.
Want to be a person of integrity? Live by these standards. They’re not complicated—they’re just not always easy. But they’re what separate people of character from everyone else.
